🌱 Easy Starter Herbs
Basil
Loves sunshine and warmth. Plant in well-drained soil and water consistently. Pinch off the tops to encourage bushy growth. Perfect for pots on a sunny windowsill!
Mint
Warning: Plant in a pot! Mint is very invasive and will take over your garden. It loves moist soil and can tolerate some shade. Trim it often to keep it happy.
Rosemary
Needs full sun and dry, well-drained (even sandy) soil. Be careful not to overwater it. This is a tough, woody perennial that will come back year after year in many climates.
🧑🍳 Culinary Favorites
Parsley
Prefers full sun but can handle light shade. It likes rich, moist soil. Parsley can be slow to germinate, so be patient! Harvest outer leaves first to promote growth from the center.
Thyme
Just like Rosemary, Thyme loves full sun and well-drained, dry soil. It's a fantastic, low-growing ground cover and is very drought-tolerant once established.
Cilantro / Coriander
This is a cool-season herb. It "bolts" (goes to flower) quickly in hot weather. Plant it in spring or fall. It enjoys full sun and well-drained soil. You can eat both the leaves (cilantro) and the seeds (coriander).
